At the Research Review Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies (RRJIS), transparency, integrity, and objectivity are central to our scholarly publishing process. We require all participants in the publication process—authors, reviewers, and editors—to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their work or decisions.

For Authors:

  • Disclosure Requirement:
Authors must disclose any financial, personal, academic, or professional affiliations that may be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Funding sources
    • Employment or consultancies
    • Stock ownership or equity interest
    • Paid expert testimony
    • Patent applications or registrations
    • Personal or professional relationships with other researchers, institutions, or companies
  • How to Disclose:
Disclosures must be made in a separate section titled "Conflict of Interest" in the manuscript, prior to submission. If no conflicts exist, authors must include the statement:
"The authors declare no conflicts of interest."

For Reviewers:

  • Impartiality Required:
Reviewers must recuse themselves from reviewing manuscripts where:
    • A personal or professional relationship exists with the author(s)
    • There is a direct competitive or collaborative connection
    • A financial or intellectual interest could bias the review
  • Disclosure Statement:
Reviewers must promptly inform the editorial team of any real or perceived conflicts before accepting a review assignment.

For Editors:

  • Fair and Unbiased Decisions:
    Editors involved in decision-making must:
    • Avoid handling manuscripts where a conflict of interest exists
    • Disclose any relevant financial or personal interest
    • Delegate the review process to another editorial member in such cases
  • Editorial Transparency:
Editors must uphold the highest ethical standards and ensure a fair, unbiased review and publication process.

Management of Disclosed Conflicts:

All disclosures are evaluated by the editorial team. Where necessary, additional measures will be taken, such as:

  • Publishing the disclosure alongside the article
  • Reassigning editors or reviewers
  • Rejecting or withdrawing a manuscript if conflicts compromise ethical standards

Responsibility and Enforcement:

Failure to disclose conflicts of interest may result in:

  • Rejection of the manuscript
  • Retraction of the published article
  • Notification to the affiliated institution

The journal follows the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines for handling conflict of interest cases.
